I've Vaio 2.13GHz Duo Core, 2GB RAM, 100GB Hard Drive Laptop. When I had XP installed on it there were these shortcut keys generically installed. Like if I pressed Fn+Volume+ will increase the volume rather than double click on the speaker on the bottom corner and then adjust. Same thing with Brightness, it is the brightest screen right now, cannot decrease the brightness level as well. Any suggestion of help would be greatly appreciated.

Of course, these buttons tend to be controlled by OEM software. Try reinstalling your power manegement software that came with your Vaio.
